Tuttavia, la maggior parte degli articoli elettronici, come apparecchiature per ufficio, apparecchiature per l'automazione industriale, ecc., non possono essere utilizzati con tensione CA a causa dei circuiti integrati e dei componenti elettronici utilizzati al loro interno. Importanza dell'alimentazione nell'automazione PLC 

  • Tempi di inattività: quando viene a mancare l'alimentazione al PLC, si spegne automaticamente. Per questo motivo, può causare tempi di inattività significativi, riduzione della produttività e persino danni ad apparecchiature o prodotti. Un'alimentazione adeguata garantisce livelli di tensione e corrente stabili in base alla domanda specifica, evitando possibili interruzioni e tempi di inattività. 
  • Riduci la perdita di dati: i dati potrebbero andare persi o danneggiati a causa di un'interruzione imprevista dell'alimentazione. Questi gravi problemi possono essere ridotti al minimo con un'alimentazione adeguata, soprattutto nei sistemi di controllo di processo o di sicurezza. 
  • Energia affidabile: improvvise interruzioni di corrente o fluttuazioni di tensione durante la produzione possono portare a riparazioni costose e aumentare i tassi di guasto del prodotto. Gli alimentatori industriali proteggono le apparecchiature dalle sovratensioni regolando i livelli di tensione, filtrando il rumore elettrico e fornendo una fonte di alimentazione coerente e stabile. 
  • Rischi per la sicurezza: un'improvvisa interruzione di corrente o un altro problema può rappresentare un grave pericolo per la sicurezza del personale e delle apparecchiature. Ecco perché un alimentatore affidabile e di alta qualità può essere una salvezza per garantire il funzionamento corretto e sicuro dei sistemi PLC. 
  • Danni ai componenti: picchi di tensione o fluttuazioni di potenza possono danneggiare le parti elettroniche sensibili del sistema, portando a costose riparazioni o sostituzioni. 
  • Personalizzabile: molti PLC e sistemi di automazione hanno requisiti di alimentazione specifici. Questo è il motivo per cui alcuni alimentatori industriali sono configurabili, il che consente loro di essere adattati alle esigenze specifiche di diversi tipi di apparecchiature. 

Quali sono I 3 tipi di alimentatori? 

  • Lineare: gli alimentatori lineari vengono utilizzati principalmente quando sono richiesti controllo preciso ed eliminazione del rumore. Forniscono prestazioni ottimali in termini di stabilità e affidabilità. 
  • A commutazione: gli alimentatori a modalità commutata (SMPS) offrono versatilità nella polarità e maggiore efficienza, sebbene siano più complessi nel design. Le loro dimensioni ridotte e il basso costo li rendono un'alternativa interessante agli alimentatori lineari. La parte migliore è che riduce al minimo le perdite tra gli switch grazie alla loro maggiore frequenza operativa. 
  • Basati su batteria: gli alimentatori basati su batteria sono un terzo tipo di alimentatore e unità mobile di accumulo dell'energia che produce un rumore trascurabile che interferisce con i componenti elettronici. Ma perde potenza e non fornisce una tensione costante man mano che la batteria si scarica.
