The Power Modules are suitable for a wide range of applications in general machine construction. Any braking energy is directly recovered in the network (four-quadrant applications – no braking chopper needed). The Power Module PM250 contains a unique technology worldwide, the Efficient Infeed Technology. Thanks to the network recovery capacity of these modules, the energy generated during generator operation (electronic braking) is recovered in the network and not dissipated in a braking resistor; this reduces the footprint in the electrical cabinet. The complex sizing of the braking resistor and the related wiring are no longer necessary; it also reduces the internal temperature of the electrical cabinet. The innovative circuit technology ensures a reduced amount of network harmonics, and it also becomes unnecessary to use an optional input network coil. This allows for savings in space and time in design and material ordering. The permissible cable lengths between the converter and motor are limited. To achieve greater cable lengths, output coils can be connected. The Power Module PM250 is also suitable for use in safety-oriented applications. In combination with a fail-safe Control Unit, the drive becomes a Safety Integrated Drive. The Power Modules PM250 are available in construction forms from FSC to FSF in the three-phase voltage range between 380 V and 480 V. The construction sizes from FSD to FSF exist with and without integrated Class A network filter. For the FSC size with integrated Class A network filter, an additional overlay filter is available that allows reaching Class B. The Power Modules PM250 with integrated Class A network filter are suitable for connection to TN networks, while those without integrated network filter are suitable for connection to TN/TT grounded networks and ungrounded IT networks. For correct EMC wiring of the Control Unit and the Power Module, shielding plates and shielding connection kits are available. SINAMICS - the drive that suits me.
